After discussion with developers team it seems logical to keep directories 'ros' and '3rdparty' in the OCCT release, while directories 'samples' and 'data' can be moved to 'ros' to keep layout the same as in Git. I have some doubts regarding 'doc' which contains generated files, but for the moment it looks more logical to move it to 'ros' as well. Since subdirectory 'ros' is kept in this approach, this change should not have much impact on the end user environments, thus I vote for including this change in 6.6.0. |

Actually, what does the abbreviation 'ros' stand for? I didn't find it anywhere documented. |

As far as I can remember, Roman Lygin decrypted it once as "repository of source". |

I guess it was "ref open source": by that time OCCT was developed in WOK environment where ref was a root workbench (farther to all other). Regardless of its meaning, I deem it is not worth renaming now, just to avoid possible problems in configuration on the user side due to this unimportant change. |
