Note that CaX-IF has developed an approach to store transparency and other visual parameters of surfaces in STEP in 2014, see Recommended Practice for Model Styling And Organization (https://www.cax-if.org/documents/rec_prac_styling_org_v16.pdf) |

0028738 added transparency to XDE document. 0031550 added reading transparency from STEP files. 0029902 added visualization materials to XDE document, however STEP reader/writer currently does not yet translate them from/to visual parameters of surfaces / styles. |
